Doug Ashford

DOUG ASHFORD is an artist, writer and teacher at The Cooper Union where he has worked for over 20 years.  His principle art practice from 1982 to 1996 was the artists’ collaborative Group Material, which produced exhibitions and public projects internationally. Currently he works mostly on paintings that have recently been seen at Documenta 13, Wilfried Lentz Gallery, Rotterdam and The Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. His book, “Doug Ashford: Essays and Conversations” will be published this September by the Grazer Kunstverein in conjunction with a solo exhibition there. dougashford.info
