Jennifer Williams
JENNIFER WILLIAMS documents, deconstructs, and recomposes organic and idiosyncratic architectural transformations evident on a macro and micro level, giving form to dissonance within an environment. Her site-specific collages encourage the use of photography not as a tool to stop time, but to control time passing. Her work is an amalgamation of traditional photographic languages and a syntax belonging to twentieth century sculptural tradition. Williams holds an MFA from Goldsmiths College in London and a BFA from The Cooper Union in New York City. Selected exhibitions include The Hunterdon Art Museum, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Muriel Guépin Gallery, La Mama Gallery, and the upcoming group show “Parallax Views” at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. jennifer-williams.com
